This is our 2005 Fleetwood Allegiance pop up camper.  We bought it in Mar of 2005 and it has been wonderful.  We tent camped as a family for almost 5 years and decided that Mother Nature was out to get us.  Every time we went camping, a beautiful weekend would turn into a stormy mess.  Plus, the summers are too hot and the winters are too cold to tent camp.

So, we decided to start the 2005 season off with a bang.  We purchased this new and on our first trip, Mother Nature tried to spoil our camping, but we just sat inside and played games.  What a treat.  Sleeping off the ground with heat available is wonderful.  Having an air conditioner allowed us to add summer camping to our agenda.  We have really enjoyed the added luxuries as well.

After a full season with the pup, we have decided to get something with a bathroom.  I suggested a cassette toilet for the Allegiance, but, alas, I was not in charge.  We now have a hybrid travel trailer with a big shower and regular toilet.  So, sadly, we must part with our beloved pup.  It is our first foray into RV's.  I fear we have started down a path we cannot afford.

The pup is in truly like new condition.  Everything is immaculate.  No leaks.  Everything works perfectly.  No dings, no rust, no tears, no holes (except ones that are supposed to be there).  No black marks.  Nothing is loose, noisy, wiggly or otherwise in disrepair.  It looks better than the day we pulled it off the lot.  The 2005 Fleetwood Allegiance is the same floorplan as the 2006 Fleetwood Sun Valley.  Not sure why Fleetwood changes the names all the time.  Here's the Fleetwood info:  Fleetwood Allegiance/Sun Valley floor plan and specifications.   I set it up today and took myriad pics.  They are here.  If there is something that needs to be added, let me know via email

The dry weight of the pup is listed as 2,000 lbs.  This is not a good weight to judge anything by, so I took the trailer to the scales and weighed it.  Fully loaded with water, both propane tanks full, bikes, camping gear, food, coolers, clothes, etc... Everything we normally take camping.  The weight was 3,100 lbs.  The Gross Vehicular Weight Rating (GVWR or the max the trailer can weigh) is 3,500 lbs.  I honestly don't know what more you would want to take camping.  The tongue weight was 350 lbs.  That was interesting because the specs say it is supposed to be 160 lbs.  Well, add a propane tank and bikes to the front end and it adds up.  I towed this pup with my 1999 Toyota Sienna which has a tow rating of 3,500 lbs and a hitch weight limit of 350 lbs.  Towed just fine.  This trailer would be a good match for a vehicle rated to tow 3,500 lbs.  I would recommend the use of a weight distributing hitch no matter what you tow this with, but it is not required.

This particular pop up has more storage than we could use.  We never filled it up and never approached the weight limit.

The 20 gal water tank (+ 6 gal in the hot water heater) lasted 4 days for us.  The battery lasted 3 if we used the furnace.

The Yakima bike rack was installed by the dealer and is simply fantastic.  Holds 4 bikes and holds them well.  You could add trays for 2 more, if you need to.

I will include a Tenkosha Voyager electric brake controller.

Ok, what about the price?  I paid $9,600 for it with the list of stuff below.  I added some things and those are listed as well.  Total I paid was $10.845.  Who cares what I paid, right?  What do I want for it?  Well, a new one from the cheapest place in the country is from Peco Camping in Georgia.  They have a new Sun Valley for $8,495.  Priced with all the options I have, it would run about $9.600.  Ran the 2004 Fleetwood Mesa model through NADA, and came up with a retail range of $7,980 - $9.645 with the options this one has.  That's for a 2004, not a 2005.  One more tidbit that is largely uninteresting to a buyer, but supremely interesting to me:  I still owe $8,500 on the camper.  So, without further adieu, the asking price is...

$8,500

Email me or call 301-737-6256 with any questions.  The camper is available now.  Let me know when you want to have a look and we'll set something up.  I am in the Navy, so schedules might be hard to match up.  I am located in California, MD, about 50 miles south of Washington, D.C.  The camper is kept at a friend's farm about 5 miles away.  Glad to show it to anyone interested.  Like I mentioned at the beginning, this camper is like new.

There are a bunch of pictures posted here.
