CASE

I found an old SKB case laying around where we store all of our band gear.  It was holding unused cables.  Turns out, it is the perfect size to fit an 01v96.  I bought some high density foam from JoAnn Fabric for $30 and cut it to fit.  I put a 2" thick piece in the top and bottom first.  Then I took a 3" thick piece and cut a hole for the 01v96 to slide into.  I added one more 3" piece on the top cover to account for the slanted top.  I used an electric carving knife to cut the foam.  Worked like a champ.

I did not like the security offered by the stock SKB latches, so I added two more on the ends.  I also added 2 spring spring loaded D clasps through the rings of the latches to ensure that they did not spring open on their own volition.  I can't imagine how gut wrenching the sound of a 01v96 falling out of its case and hitting the concrete might be.  Don't want to find out.

So, for $30, I have a very sturdy hard case for my 01v96.
